Terms of Service
These Terms govern your sponsorship of events produced by Dream Machine Innovation Lab Supporting Organization. When you sign a Sponsorship Agreement that references these Terms, you accept them.
If you sign for a company, you confirm you can bind that company. "Sponsor" means you or your company. We are Dream Machine Innovation Lab Supporting Organization, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation ("Organization," "we," "us").
Your sponsorship is a charitable contribution to support our educational mission. It is not a purchase of advertising or commercial services.
1. Sponsorship Agreements
Your Sponsorship Agreement states the contribution amount and the acknowledgment you will receive. These Terms apply to every Sponsorship Agreement.
Events may include "PlanetHAUS" and related programs.
If the Sponsorship Agreement and these Terms conflict, the Sponsorship Agreement controls.
2. What You Receive
In exchange for your contribution, we will acknowledge your support. Acknowledgment may include:
• Display of your name or logo at the event
• Listing in event materials
• A link to your website home page
• Value-neutral description of your organization
• Photos or video from the event for your use
Acknowledgment will not include comparative claims, price information, calls to action, or language that promotes your products or services.
We do not guarantee any business outcome from your participation.
3. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
• Provide your logo and materials on time
• Ship products to the venue as instructed
• Follow venue rules and safety policies
• Comply with all laws
4. Contribution and Payment
Pay the amount in your Sponsorship Agreement. Unless stated otherwise, payment is due on signing and is non-refundable.
If we invoice you, pay within 30 days. Late payments may incur interest at 1.5% per month.
You pay any sales or use taxes that apply.
If we cancel an event entirely, we will offer a refund or credit as described in the Sponsorship Agreement.
5. Event Changes
We may change the event format, schedule, venue, speakers, or content. We will make reasonable efforts to provide acknowledgment consistent with your sponsorship level.
Events beyond our control—natural disasters, pandemics, government actions—may force us to reschedule or change format. We are not required to refund contributions if we deliver acknowledgment in an alternative format.
6. Names, Logos, and Content
We own all rights to "PlanetHAUS" and our event materials. You own your logo and materials.
You grant us permission to use your name and logo to acknowledge your support, consistent with any brand guidelines you provide.
You may state that you supported our event. You may not suggest that we endorse your products or services.
Neither of us may use the other's name in a misleading or disparaging way.
7. Conduct
You and your staff must act professionally at events. No harassing, discriminatory, or harmful behavior.
We may remove materials or people who violate these rules or pose a safety risk. No refund applies in that case.
8. Privacy
We handle personal information according to our privacy policy.
We do not share attendee contact information with sponsors unless attendees consent.
9. Limitations
We provide acknowledgment as described. We make no other promises.
Neither of us is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Our total liability will not exceed the contribution you paid.
You will defend us against claims arising from your materials, products, or conduct at an event.
10. General
California law governs. Disputes go to courts in San Francisco County.
You cannot assign this agreement without our consent.
These Terms and your Sponsorship Agreement are the complete agreement between us.
